HSKC (Hong Kong) Joins Top Industry Players at E2 Forum China to Map Out New Pathways Abroad

22 October 2025, Guangzhou — At the E2 Forum China 2025, the narrative of overseas expansion in the building services and MEP sector is being redefined. The forum brought together key representatives from the China–Malaysia Chamber of Commerce, JLL, SIRIM, as well as leading property developers, core MEP manufacturers, technology firms and industry associations. Mr. Perry Lee, Executive Partner of HSKC (Hong Kong), was invited as a keynote representative of the architectural design sector to join the high-level closed-door dialogue, exploring a new paradigm of design-driven internationalisation.

Drawing upon its global technical network spanning Beijing, the UK, Hong Kong and Shenzhen, HSKC focuses on integrating smart-building technology, MEP synergy and low-carbon design into the early phases of projects—enabling Chinese MEP enterprises to evolve from “equipment suppliers” into “holistic solution providers”.

“Competition in Southeast Asia has moved beyond products—it’s now about system integration and value creation,” said Perry Lee during the closed-door session. “Simply exporting equipment no longer builds lasting advantages. True competitiveness lies in connecting MEP systems with architectural space, low-carbon standards and local operations.”

The forum went beyond market insights—it marked a shift towards collaborative innovation. Future success abroad, Perry noted, depends on using design as a connective tissue that links manufacturing, standards and operations to build an adaptive and replicable industrial ecosystem.“The new frontier is not defined by geography, but by the value it creates,” he said. “HSKC aims to work alongside industry partners to design precise, sustainable pathways for overseas expansion—positioning Chinese MEP expertise as a defining force in the global market.”

As a strategic hub and economic driver within ASEAN, Malaysia is rapidly opening up as a prime destination for Chinese MEP and construction enterprises, fuelled by robust infrastructure and real estate development.

Demand for high-quality Chinese MEP products is strong and growing. Yet opportunities come with challenges: Malaysia’s distinct certification systems, localisation policies and market-entry barriers remain critical hurdles for many firms.

Anchored on these topics, the forum invited senior experts from both China and Malaysia to dissect the key policy, technical and market factors shaping the path to expansion. The goal: to provide a practical and forward-looking “Malaysia Market Entry Guide”, empowering Chinese enterprises to land securely and expand strategically in the region.
